  • The customer knows the exact area from which the carbon credits have been purchased — and can visit it.

  • The customer is registered as the owner of the carbon credits in the property register.

  • The customer receives information about measures carried out and planned in the area.

  • Operations comply with the ISO 14064-2 standard.

  • Calculations adhere to the Green Claims Directive, supporting the customer’s climate-related communications.

Calculation Based on Scientific Criteria

  • Carbon sequestration calculations are based on extensive Finnish scientific data, including research by LUKE, SYKE, and universities, as well as Carboreal’s own data.

  • An independent third party has verified the calculations.

  • Factors affecting the carbon sequestration capacity of trees, potential risks, and a 16% certainty margin are taken into account in the calculations.

Entire Process Managed by Carboreal

  1. Carboreal purchases abandoned farmland from areas that meet optimal criteria.

  2. The land-use change from field to forest enables additional carbon sequestration.

  3. The area is afforested diversely, creating new biological carbon sinks.

  4. The amount of sequestered carbon dioxide is calculated and sold to customers as carbon credits.

  5. The owner of the credits is registered in the property register.
