Strengthening the team – new representation in the United States and the Nordics

Carboreal Plc has welcomed three experienced professionals to support its international growth journey. The company’s growth strategy places particular emphasis on the U.S. market as well as strengthening its presence in the Nordics.

Leading the company’s international growth efforts is Marko Kärkkäinen, who has taken on the role of Chief Global Officer. He made his first appearance as a representative of Carboreal at the EarthX conference in Dallas, where he also participated in presenting a recognition to the event’s founder, Trammell S. Crow Jr.

Kärkkäinen has three decades of experience in the circular economy, recycling, waste management, business development, sales, and sustainable solutions on a global scale. His career spans extensively across Europe, the US, China, Latin America, and Asia. Marko has played a key role in building operations in Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Finland, and the Netherlands, among others.

At Carboreal, Kärkkäinen's focus is particularly on opening new markets and building strategic partnerships. The US offers significant growth potential, and Kärkkäinen's extensive network there reaches directly into the heart of the global technology and business sector.

Alongside the US, Carboreal is simultaneously strengthening its position in the Nordics. As part of this broader effort, the company has appointed Tuomas Ypyä and John Puolitaival to support the expansion, particularly toward Sweden. Ypyä joins Carboreal's team as Senior Partner in an advisory role to drive the company's Nordic growth. Puolitaival, in turn, steps into the role of Sales and Marketing Director, taking responsibility for developing sales in Sweden. His extensive network in Sweden provides a strong foundation for accelerating sales.

Carboreal's goal is to establish itself as an international frontrunner and pathfinder in carbon sequestration. Under Marko Kärkkäinen's leadership, the company is advancing systematically toward this goal.
